Caroline Wozniacki Competes at the Australian Tennis Open
Caroline Wozniacki, a Laurel Springs student is competing now at the Australian Open! She is a Danish tennis player who achieved her career-high rank of #12 on November 10, 2008. She is the only Danish woman currently in the Top 400 on the WTA Tour. We’re definitely keeping our eyes on her this next week and will be cheering her on.
Wozniacki is the daughter of Polish parents (her father Piotr, and her mother Anna). As such, she is multilingual, fluent in Polish, Danish, English and also speaks Russian fairly well.
Of her hobbies, she told Teen Vogue, "I like handball (it's very popular in Europe), soccer, swimming, playing the piano and all kinds of different things." You go Caroline, and know you’re school is rooting for you!
Joining Laurel Springs School was the best decision I ever made. This school gave me the academic challenges and flexible schedule for ballet that I just couldn’t get in a traditional school. I was able to expand my ballet training and reach levels I never knew I could reach. Laurel Springs has given me the confidence I need to succeed both academically and in ballet. I feel that I am ready to go do anything in the world, knowing I have a great education.
