Dean of Education Moonlights as Letterpress Printer!

Alumna (1994) and current Laurel Springs Dean of Education Fiona Spring moonlights as a letterpress printer of custom cards, invitations, and the like, using historic machines in her garage in Santa Paula, CA. Her design and print studio - Lettre Sauvage - also teaches people to use letterpress machines so they can print their own designs! This video of Fiona and fellow printer Tegan making a Valentine's card was recently featured on the Ventura County Star news site:

Lettre Sauvage is a family run letterpress printing and design studio. Every Lettre Sauvage note card, invitation, or fine press edition is a hand made original printed on archival, sustainable paper. Our restored vintage presses leave an impression that will add impact to any communication or event.

Effective timely communication is our central focus. We seek out archival and sustainable materials and methods. All work is made out of love, not just love of the results, but each activity and movement that creates the whole. We share our knowledge and preserve the best elements of printing history, instruction, processes, presses, and materials.

Joining Laurel Springs School was the best decision I ever made. This school gave me the academic challenges and flexible schedule for ballet that I just couldn’t get in a traditional school. I was able to expand my ballet training and reach levels I never knew I could reach. Laurel Springs has given me the confidence I need to succeed both academically and in ballet.
